Last year, WIVK and Country Cares achieved over $200,000 in donations for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis. St. Jude is a facility unlike any other in the world. Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing and food, because all a family should worry about is helping their child live. Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened in 1962.

Listeners are urged to call in to make a pledge for a donation and can donate over the phone by credit card on February 19. WIVK donates its employee services and airtime on that day to support St. Jude Hospital.
